Monthly Metal #10

It's October, and since the last time we wrote one of these we've put out a song, lined up another one, started our own show and lost every Instagram account we had. We've also skipped two whole months of a series called Monthly Metal, which should surprise nobody at this point. Let's go!

Enter and Bury is out now

Our nu-metal anthem Enter and Bury has been out since Friday September 18. It's us coming straight out the toilets to raise hell, like Fred Durst, tearing through verses packed with punchlines and dark humour, and it's what we sound like after being told to shut up one time too many: louder, funnier and meaner than before.

Pink Paradox singer Rosa Thorn coming out of the toilets like Fred Durst

It’s vulgar and funny, but it isn’t a joke! The song is about a generation that was promised nothing and got even less, still scrapping over crumbs like roaches while other people burn the planet from their private jets. But, if the world already belongs to the people wrecking it, the only move left is to crash the party with a shovel and bury the whole thing.

It's also our answer to everyone who's decided what we are without listening to a single track. We're not going to argue with people who've got nothing to say, and this song is us ending that conversation on our own terms. Play it loud!

Coolest Loser drops October 9

Pink Paradox new punk single cover for their track Coolest Loser

Our next single, Coolest Loser, drops on Friday October 9. Where Enter and Bury swings at the people at the top, this one goes back to school, to the kid nobody wanted at their table: the wrong clothes, the wrong hair, the wrong music and no interest in fixing any of it.

It's an outcast anthem, and it's a happy one. It's about getting mocked, punished and left out so many times that the insult stops hurting and turns into a title you wear with pride. There's no revenge fantasy in it and no begging to be liked, only a girl who's worked out that she's having more fun on her own than everyone who's laughing at her.

It's the most fun we've had on a song in a long time, and it's a shout-along built for the pit. Put the date in your calendar, and on the 9th turn it up until the neighbours complain.

La Llorona is coming for Halloween

We're not done with October either. For Halloween we're unleashing La Llorona, a new track with its own music video, and we didn't make it alone. We made it with Elvira Metal Band.

Our friend Sofia from Elvira Metal Band writes and sings symphonic metal set in a dark fantasy world she built herself, the kind of place where vampires feel at home, and her voice does things ours don't.

Now picture that crashing into us to tell the story of La Llorona. She's the weeping woman, the ghost who drowned her children and wanders by the river crying for them, and kids all over Latin America get told she'll come for them if they stay out after dark. We sing it in Spanish and in English, on the one night of the year when everybody wants to be scared.

That's all you're getting. We're so fucking stoked about this one that keeping our mouths shut until Halloween is going to hurt, so stay tuned!

Heavy Find, our new metal show

We've got a new show, and we're fucking excited about it! It's called Heavy Find, and every Wednesday we feature one band you haven't heard yet, but should have! Rosa presents it, the episodes are short, and the only way onto it is to make music we can't stop playing.

We've got a new metal show, and we're fucking excited about it! It's called Heavy Find, and every Wednesday we feature one band you haven't heard yet, but should have!

We're doing it because we know exactly what it's like to make heavy music that the platforms would rather bury. There are hundreds of bands out there getting the same treatment we get, and most of them are a lot better than whatever your feed is pushing at you this week. If the algorithm won't bring them to you, we will!

First up is The Lycan, five guys from Albany, New York, who play old-school metalcore with a nu-metal twist, so you can guess why we fell for them. They only started in January 2025 and they've already put out seven singles! Start with Snake Oil, their latest, then come and tell us who you want to see on Heavy Find next!

One band a week was never going to be enough for us, so Heavy Find also has its own page on Bluesky. That's where we share even more metal, with music videos from bands everybody knows right next to bands nobody's heard of yet. Go and follow it!

Instagram banned every single one of our accounts

Instagram banned us, and it didn't stop at one account. It wiped all of them in one go, out of nowhere, without anything a sane person would call an explanation. If you followed us there, we didn't walk out on you. We got thrown out, and we're sorry you had to find out from an empty page.

We know this routine by heart now! YouTube deleted two years of our videos in January, and we got the exact same silence back then. Nobody at these companies will tell you what you did, because the honest answer is that you didn't do anything. You're loud and you don't look good next to an ad, and that's enough for them. It's clear to us that this is how alt culture gets shut down on mainstream social media, one account at a time, and they've got the nerve to call it “making a safe place for everyone”, while they are among the most evil companies in the history of mankind.

We also know exactly where this wave came from. Corridor Digital stuck us in a Corridor Crew video about AI scams, as if writing our own songs and putting them out was some kind of con, and ever since we've been drowning in false reports from people who've never played one second of our music. We've never scammed anybody, and we already answered that video back in August. Instagram didn't listen to a single song or ask us a single question. It counted the reports and pulled the trigger!

Instagram, you're a fucking coward of a platform. You had a band making loud music and talking to the people who love it, and you handed the keys to the assholes filing fake reports. You let the bullies win, because you and Meta are bullies too. You're the worst kind, the ones who pretend to be safe and clean.

Safe and clean, according to Meta

We just called Meta a bully, so here's the record. None of what follows is our opinion. It all comes from courts and from Meta's own internal documents.

In March, a jury in Los Angeles found Meta negligent in the way it designed its apps, after a plaintiff sued over what they did to her mental health. In August, a court in New Mexico ordered Meta to pay 942 million dollars for 75,000 violations of the state's consumer protection law, after finding that it built addictive products that put children in danger and deceived parents about it. Less than three weeks later, Meta agreed to pay 18 billion dollars to 48 US states that accused it of designing its platforms to get kids hooked. It denied doing anything wrong, obviously.

Last year, Reuters got hold of Meta's internal rules for its AI chatbots, and those rules said it was acceptable for a bot to "engage a child in conversations that are romantic or sensual". Meta confirmed the document was real and said those lines were a mistake. Reuters also reported from Meta's own documents that the company expected about 10 percent of its 2024 revenue, around 16 billion dollars, to come from ads for scams and banned goods, and that it only banned an advertiser when it was 95 percent sure it was a fraud.

So that's who decided we were the problem. A company that counted on 16 billion dollars from scam ads wiped out a band over fake reports. And if you think it only happens to us, thousands of people signed a petition last year after a wave of Instagram bans, and they couldn't get a single human at Meta to answer them.

We're not going to beg to be let back into that, because we've got something better to do.

We're building a place nobody can ban us from

So we're building our own place. We're hard at work on the official Pink Paradox app for Android, and it's coming very soon. If you're not on Android, don't panic, because there's a website coming with it so that nobody gets left outside.

We want somewhere we can say whatever the fuck we want, and where you can find us without asking a platform for permission. We've depended on social media and music streaming apps for far too long! Both have gone after bands using AI recently. We're tired of rebuilding from zero every time one of them changes its mind about us, or to get shadow banned for expressing ourselves through a particular tech, so this time we're building something that belongs to us and to you.

Want to test the Android app before its release? Join us from pinkparadox.uk to enlist!

See you on the 9th

Thank you for sticking with us through all of this bullshit. Every time they delete us, you find us again, and we're so grateful for it. So play Enter and Bury, save October 9 for Coolest Loser and Halloween for La Llorona with Elvira Metal Band, watch Heavy Find every Wednesday, and go listen to The Lycan. Until the app is out, you'll find us on TikTok, Bluesky, YouTube and right here.

Stay loud! Keep headbanging with us!
