Youtube silenced us

Today our YouTube channel was banned. No warning, no strike, no explanation. Two years of passionate work erased in the blink of an eye. Every music video gone, every short gone, every comment, every connection we built with you cut off overnight.

Our Pink Paradox Youtube account was never flagged, never restricted, we were never told we crossed a line. We simply disappeared… That silence is the message. When a voice does not fit what is safe for marketing, it does not need a reason to be removed.

And it happened, just as we published the new music video for Dead-End Road, ready to share the news on social media with the metal community we’ve built over the past two years, to contact the friends we made over time in the metal press about it.

This is what social media control looks like. A handful of platforms deciding who exists online and who does not. Not based on art, nor on truth, but on what keeps advertisers comfortable. Based on what keeps Mastercard, Visa, and PayPal happy. These social media companies speak about humanity, supporting artists, inclusion, and saving the world, but they are pure cold business. They push their algorithm to flood timelines with brain rot content, with content that does not question the world, because its easier to put an ad over it. Meanwhile alternative voices are flagged, shadowed, restricted, or erased entirely… And when everything’s goes well their content is simply not pushed forward by the algorithms.

Metal has always lived outside the comfort zone, and shouldn’t be aligned with this false pretense of making a “safe space for all” of social media apps. Aggressive sound, uncomfortable themes, anger, and truth are not safe, they are meant to grab people attention, make them think, revolt, refuse the state of the world we all have to endure. Music artists should not be led to beg for attention on social media to be pushed by algorithms. They shouldn’t be advertiser friendly, and should have a right to exist exactly for this reason. Instead we get attacked! Not openly, but quietly, from the shadow. Accounts vanish, channels die, voices go extinct, and alternative communities never discover the artists who can make them feel they’re not alone.

What hurts most is losing you, our Youtube fans, but life always find its way. We’ll do too, and we’ll find a way to reach your ears again, to make you headbang with us. Because this will not stop Pink Paradox! It confirms everything we already knew. These platforms must be fought with all our strength. Alternative voices must defend their right to exist. Even when they are virtual, if not more. Especially when these voices refuse to be clean commercial products, to beg for attention, to remain quiet, or to be focused only on profit.

From now on, we will publish our music videos everywhere, never letting again one platform only control our music and videos availibility online. We are actively looking for solutions to return to Youtube, but we will not let corporations limit our freedom to express ourselves. In the meantime, fans can watch the new Dead-End Road music video on Spotify and Apple Music, with more platforms coming soon. All our other music videos will be republished online very soon as well. Pink Paradox will continue to rise, scream, and fight for every alternative voice that deserves to exist.
